Travel Roundup: Ryanair's $13 Flight, Holland America Does Express, St. Regis Debuts and More
(MoneyWatch) Budget carrier Ryanair wants $13 flights from Europe to U.S. -- Ryanair, a budget airline based in Ireland, is planning on offering $13 one-way flights from Europe to the U.S. Of course, the flights are contingent on CEO Michael O'Leary buying up aircraft from bankrupt airlines and the whole gimmick may end up being financially impossible. Holland America debuts Express Tours -- Holland America will launch a new package of shorter, or express, tours to Alaska in 2009 to complement its existing week-long Alaskan cruises. Express Tours would add two or three nights in Anchorage or Talkeetna along with sightseeing tours. [Source: Holland America]
Starwood expands St. Regis to Mexico -- The opening of the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, a Starwood Hotels & Resorts property in Bahia de Bandera in Mexico, is the luxury brand's first foray into Latin America.
