Jobs You Can Get While Looking for Work
(MoneyWatch)
Job scams are the rage these days, as con artists prey on the desperation of millions of people out of work. But there are some legitimate money-making opportunities that you can secure while officially out of work. They won't make you rich, but they might keep the wolves at bay.
Coupon Sherpa just compiled a list of 24 job opportunities. No scams. No paying for "training" or "equipment." No refunding a portion of the check your "employer" (read that "check forger") sent to you. Just down-to-earth ways to make a few bucks.
To be sure, you might not want to take advantage of every opportunity listed here, such as donating plasma or volunteering your body for medical research. (Ouch!) But they're also providing tips on becoming a dog-walker; delivering newspapers and phone books; and ways to sell your stuff online. If you're out of work and short of cash, it's worth a look.
