Nightmare Neighbors: Octomom, Jon & Kate (Plus 8), Tiger Woods

(MoneyWatch)  Zillow.com, a real estate shopping web site, twisted the "there goes the neighborhood" question by asking which celebrities you'd most and least like to have next door.

Octomom Nayda Suleman, famous for proudly procreating octuplets while unmarried and unemployed to create a brood of 14, ranked as the nation's least desirable neighbor, with 17% of the survey's respondents determining that she would be the neighborhood nightmare. (Suleman supplanted Britney Spears, who was the nation's least wanted neighbor in 2008, according to Zillow. Spears was just seventh least-loved this year.)

Jon & Kate, plus eight, the now brawling and divorcing Gosselin family, were the survey's second-least-loved neighbors, while Balloon Boy's parents, Richard and Mayumi Heene, ranked as the nation's third-least wanted neighbors.

Author and erstwhile Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin was on both the most-desirable and least desirable lists, with 12% of the 2,257 individuals surveyed saying they'd love to have her next door and 11% saying they'd hate it. (Do you think that split along party lines?)

It's little surprise that Kanye West, who President Obama called a "jackass" for interrupting Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the Video Music Awards, also made the least-wanted list. Swift was ranked one of the nation's most-desirable neighbors, with 9% of the respondents wishing she was the girl next door.

Hills stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt may be telling the world how to be famous and fabulous, but America says "not in my backyard." They rank as the sixth least-desirable neighbors in the Zillow survey.

Another star for whom America has mixed feelings: Tiger Woods. Three percent of the survey respondents would love to have him next door; 4% would rather not.

Who would Americans most want to have next door? The Obamas (14%); comedian Ellen DeGeneres and Portia DeRossi (12); Palin (12%); Swift (9%); Oprah Winfrey (7%); Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen (3%); Woods (3%); and Twilight's Robert Pattinson (1%).

Unfortunately, Zillow didn't ask whether having these celebrities in the neighborhood would be good or rotten for real estate values, but they did provide very cool shots of some of their homes.
