(Episode 494: 15 minutes 39) People complaining about the growth of higher density housing are simply exponents of NIMBYism ("not in my back yard"). Tony Recsei, President of the Save Our Suburbs community group, says there is nothing wrong with that as long as it doesn't get out of control. Meanwhile high density development, he argues, is getting out of control.

So how would we solve the issue of housing an increased population, with decreasing housing affordability? Isn't part of the issue, as suggested by Ralph McLaughlin in a recent BTalk, that people want to live in our cities -- they don't want to move to the regions or to the outer suburbs.
