The Government 2.0 Taskforce | BTalk Australia
(Episode 363; 21 minutes 07) Some might argue that we need to get government 1.0 to work properly before we worry about government 2.0. The latter, as you might expect, refers to government using web 2.0 technologies to communicate with the public and, we'd hope, to take feedback and promote discussion.
The Government 2.0 Taskforce has been set-up to advise and assist the Government in ways of encouraging greater disclosure of public information, enable greater use of that information and drive online innovation, consultation and engagement by government.
Dr Nicholas Gruen, himself a rampant blogger, is the chair of the Taskforce. He talks to Phil Dobbie about the role of the taskforce and the opportunities that exist.
Join the discussion on government 2.0 at http://gov2.net.au/. Also add your comments in the Talkback section at the end of this post.
The Taskforce will provide a final report on its activities to the Minister for Finance and Deregulation and the Cabinet Secretary by the end of 2009.
