A Suggestion for the Henry Tax Review | BTalk Australia
(Episode 309; 11 minutes 00) The Henry review of tax policy will deliver its final report to the Treasurer in December. Last week it was reported that the review was considering a top-up scheme for those who reach retirement age with insufficient money in their superannuation fund. It's a scheme that would help some, but only touches the edges of the self-funded retirement issue.
On today's BTalk Australia Dr Thomas Henker, a senior lecturer in Banking and Finance at the Australian School of Business, argues that concessional contribution caps and ongoing tinkering with the superannuation rules are the two big problems that need to be fixed.
What do you think? Will your super fund see you through retirement? Add your comments in the Talkback section at the end of this post.
