The Liability of Board Membership | BTalk Australia
(Episode 306: 15 minutes 45) Back in April, the New South Wales Supreme Court ruled that directors of James Hardie had breached the corporations law by allowing false or misleading statements to be made to the ASX. Kerryn Newton, managing director of Directors Australia says this case "highlighted the demanding duties and liabilities of directors and the need for boards to review their practices and procedures".
In today's BTalk Australia Phil Dobbie talks to Kerryn about the liabilities of board membership. Is it becoming more of a risk and, if so, what factors are driving this change?
Do you think too much liability rests with board members? Add your thoughts in the Talkback section at the end of this post.
