(MoneyWatch)  (Episode 292; 10 minutes 06) Almost all Australians have to make investment decisions that will determine the lifestyle they'll enjoy after retirement. We normally choose options through our superannuation providers who, this year, had only bad news to impart on those about to reach retirement age.

So having been hit by the global financial crisis are we more cautious about the level of risk we adopt in our investment decisions? Hazel Bateman, an Associate Professor at the Australian School of Business at the University of New South Wales, has studied our understanding of risk and the decisions we make in relation to our superannuation. Do we really understand the repercussions of our investment decisions?
