Tech Law: Facebook Sued, RIM Settles, Mosaid Sues IBM, More

A look at highlights of the past week in the high tech legal world: courts, regulation, and lawsuits.
Facebook sued for click fraud -- A would-be class action suit with RootZoo is targeting Facebook because of alleged click fraud by users of Facebook. Mosaid targets IBM -- Technology licensing firm Mosaid is suing IBM for allegedly infringing on six patents. [Source: Reuters]
TiVO seeks almost $1B from Echostar, Dish -- According to court filings, TiVO seeks nearly a billion dollars in contempt sanctions in its patent infringement lawsuit against Echostar and Dish Network. [Source: Barron's Tech Trader Daily]
Nvidia up by one over Rambus -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has potentially invalidated several Rambus patents that are part of the company's suit against chip maker Nvidia. [Source: Reuters]
Two more LCD companies get EU filing -- Taiwan LCD panel companies AU Optronics and Chi Mei Microelectronics have said that they received filings from the EU Commissions regarding the ongoing investigation of alleged price fixing by some manufacturers. [Source: DigiTimes]
RIM pays to settle with Visto -- RIM is paying $267.5 million to settle a patent infringement suit brought by Visto Corp. [Source: Bloomberg]
