NEW YORK Twinkies, Wonder Bread and Devil Dogs are likely to return to shelves in coming months, but probably not under the same owners.

Hostess Brands Inc. said in bankruptcy court Friday that it's narrowing down the bids it received for its brands and expects to sell off its snack cakes and bread brands such as Wonder to separate buyers.

An investment banker for the company said a likely suitor has emerged to buy the namesake Hostess brand, which include Twinkies, Ding Dongs and Ho Hos, along with Dolly Madison, which includes Zingers and Coffee Cakes. He said a separate bidder has emerged as a possible buyer for Drake's cakes, which includes Devil Dogs and Yodels.

Hostess, based in Irving, Texas, began shuttering its operations late last month.

Useless company, and union, and then they wonder why there children with now live shorter lives than there parents for the first time in centuries. Fourteen other companies already filled the gap, anyone who bought one of these brands to drag it on for another decade is an idiot.

Hostess is not a producer of anything that should be ingested, and hasn't been since they began using comparatively inexpensive chemicals in their 'treats', instead of wholesome ingredients. They also have shown no respect for their workforce or the professional reputation of their brand name.

The company epitomizes all most heinous business practices that have brought our economy to its knees, and any group foolish enough to want to buy them out should consider the odorous baggage they'd be saddled with.

your irrational, melodramatic screed adds nothing to the conversation.
hostess' relations with its workers have varied dramatically over the years, as (like many companies) its owners have changed. the latest iteration of the company may have had terrible labor relations, but it's widely accepted, even among union supporters, that one union in particular screwed the company in the latest effort to remain under the current management and in business.
so, your tirade against hostess over the years merely represents an all too common lack of thorough knowledge of an issue prevalent today, as the mainstream has far too much 'information' at its disposal and thinks they have the right to comment on things which they know little about.
further, the yammering about the ingredients is all too typical. yes, clearly this is not 'wholesome' food, pure as nature, blah blah. but there's nothing truly damaging about it. sorry to all you fanatics, but you're going to die pretty much in the same time frame whether you eat twinkies once in a while or not.
and lastly, the moronic b.s. you pour out about 'what brought our economy to its knees' is just more of the same drivel... a mindless statement, painted with an absurdly broad brush, to come to a 'conclusion' which has absolutely no relation to reality and isn't based on any firm data.
