Delta Announces New Team of Officers

By
Brett Snyder
(MoneyWatch)  Now that the Northwest merger is done, Delta had to announce the team of people that would be running the show. In addition to Ned Walker's arrival from Continental to run PR, we have the following . . .

From Delta (with new position)
  • Steve Gorman (EVP and Chief Operating Officer)
  • Hank Halter (SVP and Chief Financial Officer)
  • Tim Mapes (SVP Marketing)
  • Ray Winborne (SVP Finance and Controller)
  • Gail Grimmett (SVP New York)
  • Vinay Dube (VP Alliances)
  • Jim Graham (VP Flying Operations)
  • James Sarvis (VP Airport Customer Service International)
  • David Watson (VP Inflight Service Business Operations)
  • Mike Campbell (EVP HR and Labor Relations)
  • Glen Hauenstein (EVP Network Planning and Revenue Management)
From Northwest (with new position)
  • Jim Cron (SVP Global Sales and Distribution)
  • Tom Bach (SVP Revenue Management)
  • Tammy Lee Stanoch (VP Corporate Affairs - Minneapolis)
  • Andy Zarras (VP Customer Service - Detroit)
  • Mike Becker (EVP and Chief Operating Officer - NWA)
  • Ben Hirst (SVP and General Counsel)
  • Theresa Wise (SVP and Chief Information Officer)
Is it just me or does there seem to be some serious top-heavy title inflation here? That looks like a pretty hefty number of senior leaders, but I guess that's the way of the world these days.

Noticeably absent from the list is Lee Macenczak, Delta's current EVP of Sales and Marketing who will apparently be disappearing from the combined airline.
