Is Shire CEO Russell Smarter Than a 5th Grader?

By
Jim Edwards
(MoneyWatch)  That question will be answered soon as Shire CEO Angus Russell submits to a quiz in which his giant brain (one presumes) is pitted against the children of his employees on "Take Your Child to Work Day."

The Philadelphia Business Journal reports:
At Shire, the event will be called: "Are You Smarter than Our CEO?"

Russell brings a diverse knowledge base to the challenge. He studied science in high school, then considered a career as a pharmacist or architect before opting to become a certified public accountant.
That's a big buildup! But can he name the fastest land animal? Hmm? It should all take Russell's mind off his recent troubles, although his Q1 numbers are due April 30 so I'm guessing this quiz will be brief.

The contest seems ripe for potential hilarity, and we can only hope that Shire employees who witness the quiz will describe it in detail on Cafe Pharma when they get home that night.

The company is also sponsoring a day at a local kids museum.
