In Europe, George Clooney Is a Coffee Salesman
(MoneyWatch)
In the U.S., George Clooney's image is assiduously tended -- he's the ne plus ultra of Hollywood cool, this century's Cary Grant. But in Europe he's just another pretty face hawking consumer goods.
This ad for Nespresso coffee (right) can currently be seen in magazines and on bus shelters all over London. Look closely, and you'll conclude that the two images are probably identical with one featuring a Photoshopped hand holding a cup added later. Cheap! The account is handled by McCann Paris.
The Clooney Nespresso campaign has been running since 2006. Below, find the current TV spot in which Clooney is hit by a falling piano and gets to meet John Malkovich -- as God -- in heaven.
