Even The GAO Needs Contractors

(MoneyWatch)  The Government Accountability Office (GAO) seems to spend its time issuing reports on why contractors are failing the U.S. government. They also seem to spend a great deal of effort reviewing contract awards and whether they were done correctly. Now WashingtonTechnology.com writes that the GAO itself has awarded a contract to SRA International to upgrade and improve the office's IT solutions. The contract was awarded through the GSA schedule and is worth up to $117 million if all options are exercised over five years. As with many of these contracts the GAO hopes that these IT upgrades will help them control costs and improve services.
