First US Company to Get ISO/IEC 2000 Certification is Verizon
(MoneyWatch) Verizon's Government Network Operations and Security Center earned the ISO/IEC 2000 Certification for IT Service Management. Web Host Industry News has the story. The website for this certification is here. It lays out a set of business practices for service delivery. Verizon is the first company in the United States to get this international certification. Verizon provides IT and web services to a great deal of the Federal government. Despite the fact that the U.S Department of Defense founded the internet it now contracts out most of its unclassified support.
