Florida Signs Software Contract to Help Control Medicaid Costs

By
Matthew Potter
(MoneyWatch)  The State of Florida gave ACS a contract to provide medical insurance and program management software. MarketWatch.com has the press release. With increasing pressure on the Federal and State governments to provide more health care to an aging population at as low a cost as possible there should be more attempts to gain such efficiencies in the future.
The five year contract worth over $40 M will provide software to aid in identifying third party payers and collect from them payments to aid in reducing the cost of the state funded program. ACS has been providing software to Florida for medical administration for over ten years.
