Local Contractor Punished for Hiring Illegal Alien Workers

By
Matthew Potter
(MoneyWatch)  The owner of Michael Bianco Inc., a Massachusetts based apparel manufacturer, was convicted of hiring illegal alien workers and providing them with false Social Security Numbers (SSN). The Pembroke Express has the story. Francesco Insolia founded the company several years ago to make handbags. The company grew rapidly over the last few years as it received some contracts from the Department of Defense to make backpacks. Mr. Insolia has also had issues with paying his workers overtime as reported here by SouthCoastToday.com. Mr. Insolia faces up to 18 months in prison and he and the company will pay fines. They will also not be able, most likely, to bid on further defense contracts.
