Force 3 Buys Microsoft ERP Product
(MoneyWatch) In a follow up to yesterday's post about the competition between Deltek and Microsoft for the ERP market involving government contractors, Force 5, a large, minority owned IT provider to Defense, Federal and other government agencies announced that they are buying Microsoft products to manage their payroll and timekeeping. The press release is available at The Earth Times.
Force 5 stresses that the reason they bought the software is due to the fact that they are responsible to the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) for accurate accounting and justification of their "extensive documentation and reports to meet the rigorous auditing requirements that government contractors face when servicing U.S. government agencies." The desire to avoid issues with these types of audits that can in the worst situation lead to bans from bidding on work for a period of time leads companies to invest in such systems. While this software will help the key is proper training of employees when they are audited as a major part of them is to interview employees with several basic questions. Most government contractors understand this and provide the employee with the necessary stock answer.
