Texas sues Johnson & Johnson's Janssen Pharmaceuticals -- The state claims that Janssen, a J&J subsidiary, used public health officials as "pitchmen" and falsified advocacy group reports in order to push Risperdal onto the official drug list for Texas Medicaid. [Source: FiercePharma]
Court rules in favor of PTC Therapeutics in experimental drugs case -- The family of a terminally ill patient wanted access to one of PTC's experimental drugs as a treatment option, but PTC said it couldn't give out an unapproved medication. In August, a lower court judge ruled that PTC had to release the drug, but the U.S. Court of Appeals in Philadelphia just overturned that ruling. The case has been closely watched by those in the industry, as it sets an important procedural precedent for clinical trials. [Source: WSJ Health Blog]
