AC vs Phelps: The 2012 rematch

Four years ago, Anderson Cooper challenged Olympic champion Michael Phelps to a one-lap race. Anyone want to guess how that went? (Imagine competing against a dolphin.)

Even with a significant handicap -- Phelps wasn't allowed to dive in, take strokes, or breathe -- the swimming phenom easily swept past our brave correspondent.

In May, they meet again for a rematch (oh, and also for a 60 Minutes story about Phelps' preparation for the summer Olympics in London...but enough about that.) This time, The Olympian and The TV Reporter faced off on dry land, where Mr. Phelps lost some degree of advantage.

As you'll see, Anderson takes an early lead. Then things get interesting. Can Anderson Cooper finally win one for Team 60 Minutes?

When did 60 minutes become the Barbara Walter's special... Gee Anderson, why didn't you ask Phelps what type of tree would he be?? With all due respect to Mr. Wallace..he is turning in his grave.. Not one question about his dope smoking? Do you still smoke dope Mike? How much were you smoking.. Yea..I get it.. the Olympics are around the corner and let's suck up to Anderson to repair the image so he can sell us Corn flakes... 60 minutes and Phelps would have come across with much more credibility if you had addressed this topic head on...I guess Phelps asked you not to question... weak Anderson!! Your entertaining Anderson..I like your work but. do us a favor...stay off 60 minutes and stick to your daytime gig if your going to lob up cream puffs... What would Mike Wallace have done???

id be careful around cooper after watching the show where his phone was tested for germs and they found out that it was covered in FECES...Yuck!

by Tri2win May 7, 2012 1:08 PM EDT: In spite of hundreds of systems in commercial aviation which do a flawless job of supplying fresh air to the pilot/crew/passengers, the designers of the F-22 decided to extract their supply from jet exhaust gases.
About the same as taking the thousands of contaminants found in cigarette smoke, running them through a charcoal filter, and offering this soup for the pilots to breathe.
The oxygen content simply isn't there, and all the filtering in the world will at best give you a clean, oxygen-deficient air supply.
About the only thing designers saved was an additional compressor or pump, their thinking seeming to be that they'd get a "free" high pressure air supply following combustion.
There are potential engineering and design whistleblowers, but witnessing the Air Force treatment of their own, have no doubt decided to stay mute.; Reply to this comment
