Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg unveiled his redesign on "60 Minutes" this week. We figured this was of high interest to a great many people (say, 500 million), so we asked our very own Joe Akbrud, the social media wizard at CBS News, to walk us through the changes. Joe takes "60 Minutes Overtime" editor, Ann Silvio, on a tour of what's new and different about the updated Facebook profile page.

by goodguy1234ass December 31, 2010 5:34 AM EST: Annnnnd this is why traditional news networks are absolutely doomed. I thought only CNN was stupid enough to report on Facebook and Twitter. I hope someone from CBS reads this and realizes how much of a laughingstock your news networks are among people of my age group (born 1987). I will be extremely surprised if CBS or CNN exist as news networks in 20 years, if you can call what they do now "news" anyway.

I'm embarrassed for CBS, and I'm embarrassed for America. The news in this country is absolutely pathetic. I cannot wait until the internet puts you all out of business. You accomplish only regurgitating the inane and the trivial to what I assume is your target audience of mostly-illiterate youtube commenters.

It is obvious the people in charge don't really "get" Facebook (or social networking in general) and are floundering looking for a way to monetize these buzzwords.

However, people that use Facebook every day realize that Facebook is kinda like the Post Office (or email). It's just a way to get a message to someone or a group of people when you get down to it.

If you didn't catch my drift, it's not #%@%ing newsworthy. Reporting on it makes you look stupid, old, and slow.

Stop reading Twitter and Youtube comments on television as well. First off, it makes your networks look incredibly lazy and unprepared. I could read them myself if I had ever, ever, ever had that masochistic desire. Secondofly, those comments were written by idiots at 3 in the morning. If there is any possible way to sound more idiotic than those comments, it is by repeating them to millions of captive viewers.

Everyone always wants to complain about things they think they cannot change. It's sad that they do not have enough self-respect to recognize that they are the only one who can change their own circumstances.

I really do not have any sympathy for people who claim that their privacy has been taken from them. Choose to decide who you want to let in on your lives. Even if they use the info about you against you, you can always take the higher ground and choose not to let it bother you.

Seriously, stop complaining about the information that you think is secure. If people wanted to find out about your privacy, they would find out about your privacy. It's really not that hard to get.; Reply to this comment

I'm hoping that Facebook will tweak the new profile in the coming days. First I would like to sing the praises of Facebook overall, as I have had measured success in business because of it, plus reconnecting with people is great. However, I noticed 3 observations right off the bat that I don't like on the new redesign.

1. Status updates are no longer at the top of your wall, and get buried as posts appear on your wall. I like my status update to be visible to my viewers at all times.

2. Facebook has made their ads on the right side wider, encroaching on the middle of the wall. This is their right of course, but it's starting to look squeezed.

3. Facebook is not showing the updates that I made in the top of the page. Hopefully this is just a bug that will be fixed.

FB just create ways for you to give out all of your personal info. Now a stalker can just come to where you work and wait. They make make the info you give seem so harmless but its really very dangerous.
