GoPro cameras make the everyday "bullet time" (and up close-and-personal orchestra bonus)
(CBS News) We appreciate all things novel here at The Feed. (Not to be confused with novels, which we also appreciate). And there is no better way to describe the effect done in the video above using a large quantity of GoPro cameras. Click play to watch the everyday go "bullet time" starting at about 1:05 into the clip. I highly recommend watching in high-definition if possible.
The super slick, Matrix-style video was filmed, edited and posted on Vimeo by PermaGrin Films, and was made using only GoPro cameras. Honestly, with the portability, quality and price point, I'm actually surprised we're not seeing more filmmakers just using a gajillion GoPro cameras to capture every single possible moment and angle in their shoots so they can employ effects like this and more at the "drop of a hat" (which would, of course, be shown in bullet-time the second the hat dropped).
Though, in all fairness, I suppose there would end up being some poor editor who would need to go through and edit a gajillion hours of footage... What do you think? Leave me some comment love below with your thoughts and personal filmmaking experiences about this.
And the headline promised an orchestra bonus, and I'm not going to have that headline make a liar out of me. (Way to jump the gun on me there, headline!) So take a moment to get up close-and-personal with the BYU Philharmonic Orchestra in another novel approach employing GoPro cameras below from The Laycock Center (that only reinforces my prior point and query).
