Carly Rose Sonenclar performing Nina Simone classic at club before appearing on "The X Factor"

(CBS News) So your blogger here has done a fair bit of karaoke in his life. And sometimes there's actually even applause afterwards, but probably more from the vigor and passion of the performance than any level of skill in the actual execution. That, however, is not the case for the young girl in the above video who is pure skill and talent. Check out her performance.

While the video quality is a bit low (it's a dark karaoke club, so it happens), the stunning cover of Nina Simone's "Feeling Good" shines through. Carly Rose Sonenclar, then 12-years-old, brought down the house with this track back in February at the Birdand Jazz Club in New York City. Now 13 years old, young Carly Rose has moved on to blowing away national audiences for her performance on Fox's "The X Factor".
