U.S. Olympic Team tribute to Muhammad Ali is the most amazing thing in the history of ever

(CBS News) Okay, this is simply too awesome. The Internet has definitely just put out one of the best sports tributes in the history ever and you need to stop what you're doing and watch it immediately. Seriously. Check out this too-good-to-be-true tribute to one of all-time greats of boxing: Muhammad Ali.

Okay, how pumped up over the Olympics are you after watching this video? On a scale of one to 10, I'm at like a 20. I was at like a 12 before. Just saying. The stunning music mix and tribute to the boxing legend was created by DJ Steve Porter and posted by the U.S. Olympic Team in honor of Muhammad Ali being the special guest of Team USA's 2012 Benefit Gala hosted at USA House the night before the London 2012 Opening Ceremony. I just love the jealousy of the baggers posting here.

Ali did not dodge the draft, that was what Bush and Cheney did, with their cowardly deferments.

Ali openly refused the draft, and accepted the consequences. Quite different from seeking deferments, deferments are the cowards tools.

His reasoning is as correct now as it was then,"I ain't got no quarrel with those Vietcong ... no Vietcong ever called me n****r.

He once said: "'cause I'm free. I've made the stand all black people will have to make sooner or later: whether or not they can stand up to the master.'"

Too bad more "black" people aren't in a position to refuse military service and thus stand up to the "master".

The US civil war was the only conflict the US ever fought that was of any benefit to us.

Ali is a world-renowned hero, the greatest of all time. Live with it, baggers.

Why such a big deal about him in last few Olympics. He's a has been now. They have ignored and haven't even acknowledged the Israeli teams that were killed 40 yrs ago. They deserve it more than ever.

by skeezix06 July 31, 2012 7:51 PM EDT: Do you think we should hold a moment of silence every Olympics for the Israeli team that died? I do not see the logic in that. They may have been terrific athletes and its not their fault but they never attained the rank that Ali did.

by skeezix06 August 1, 2012 4:19 AM EDT: Actually I watched the whole thing on tv. I remember Munich very clearly but there is a point to stop grieving. Ali's alive to enjoy the tribute. Anything you do for the Munich athletes is for yourself because they've gone on and likely don't care what we do here.

What makes you think that a boxer of today has any skill if you can't compare him/her to boxers of the past? Why do golfers care about Bobby Jones or Sam Snead or Jack Nicklaus? They're all has beens. Why do NASCAR fans fret so much over Dale Earnhart? He's a has been. Why have Halls of Fame? Wilt Chamberlain did nothing for basketball? Jim Brown for football?

If you don't know a sports' history, understand its progress, your view of current athletes and their relative skill is sorely ignorant of perspective. As for the Israeli's, most announcers, teams and individuals HAVE acknolwedged them. Time and time again. The IOC hasn't, but, they aren't the ones who sponsored or posted this video, either.

by smagboy1 August 1, 2012 7:07 AM EDT: Muhammad Ali is a brave man with strong convictions. He dodged nothing. He walked right up and stated that he wasn't going to serve in a war that he didn't believe in. And he served his time in jail. Further, he had the intelligence and conviction to understand and learn about history before expressing himself. Something that sadly seems to be a bit of a lost art.

Cassius Clay was certainly the greatest at self-promotion; Donald Trump probably took lessons from him.

Clay was the greatest draft-dodger. Elvis was one of the greatest rock-n-rollers, but he served in the military in Germany without whining.

But calling Clay "the greatest" is downright insulting to the many great athletes we have seen over the years.

by smagboy1 August 1, 2012 7:04 AM EDT: Draft dodger? No. He never went to Canada, never used a deferment or his daddy's money or power to avoid serving. Nope, he bravely and resolutely stated flat out that he wasn't going to serve in a war that we had nothing to do with, one that he didn't believe in. I've got no beef with Elvis, and I'm sorry that you even brought him up, but he served as a touring USO act in what was essentially a PR dream come true. So, let's not act like he did anything that required special courage. I'm not blaming him for that, but, I'd say Ali was the one who demonstrated true courage, bravery and conviction.

Sometimes the greatest love of a country is shown through questioning it rather than blindly following it. They say the same about morality: doing the right thing, no matter what you're told to do, as opposed to doing what you're told to do, whether it's right or not.
