An abridged history of Western music in 16 genres
(CBS News) Western culture has seen a wide array of music styles and trends occur over the past couple hundred years. From jazz to blues to ragtime to rock to heavy metal and now dubstep (which we featured for the umpteenth time again recently), the extreme variety almost seems to have no reason or rhyme to it (ba dump bump). But now you can watch some of that history of music unfold in the very creative music video above. Go ahead and take a look and listen.
The upbeat and fun lesson in musical history with a visual and auditory component to it was done by one of The Feed's favorites, cdza (short for Collective Cadenza), and is entitled "An Abridged History of Western Music in 16 Genres". And what do we think? Another home run from this creative experimental group that has previously shown us history lessons in whistling and nonsensical lyrics (and many others).
