Adorable video of a sleeping hummingbird "snoring"

(CBS) - Last month we showed you a ridiculously cute video of a dormouse snoring. Well, it's time to get your adorable on with this follow-up of a - wait for it - snoring hummingbird! Check it out.

Seriously, did I call it? Are you not entertained? The video entitled "Sleeping hummingbird "snores" in Peru" was posted by YouTube user forrestertr7 who writes:

a female Amethyst-throated Sunangel (Heliangelus amethysticollis) sleeps in Peru

So are videos of snoring wildlife going to be a new thing? Because if so, I'm all for it! What do you think? Feel free to leave me some comment love below.

by Denisemgrasmick February 28, 2012 8:26 PM EST: It bothers me that this poor little thing is in this hole of a cage, all white?? with nothing in it but a perch. WHY IS IT EVEN CAPTURED?? I too find it hard to believe that it would sleep through that light and camera without something wrong???? I'm no expert, but this is upsetting, FAR FROM CUTE AND ADORABLE!! I hope some experts correct me if I'm wrong. Especially correct you!; Reply to this comment


by boforillo February 25, 2012 5:34 PM EST: Hummingbird feeders need to be cleaned refilled often. If not the sugar water will ferment. This could be a "passed out" bird, not a sleeping bird.; Reply to this comment

by passerine February 25, 2012 1:19 PM EST: As sweet as this seems, this bird is making distress noises. The sound is often made if a hummingbird is disturbed during torpor (the deep state of sleep they go into at night). Opening the beak in this way is never a good thing (unless its a juvenile gaping for food). It also indicates high stress levels or is the sign of a very sick bird. I wish it were true that this bird were just snoring...! The person who had this bird in their care maybe did not know, but they really should not have put the bright light onto this bird and FILMED it when he/she was so distressed. The tongue is sticking out and is typically a sign that a bird is near death.; Reply to this comment
