Adorable liger cubs born in China
(CBS/AP) - A manchurian tiger and an African lion gave birth to four adorable lion-tiger hybrid cubs, known as ligers, in Xixiakou Wildlife and Natural Reserve in Rongcheng, east China's Shangdong Province.
The liger is a hybrid cross between a male lion and a tigress. Thus, it has parents with the same genus but of different species.
All four were born on May 13. But sadly, two of them died days after they were born due to birth complications.
According to The Associated Press, there are roughly only 20 ligers currently walking the earth. But according to fictional film character Napoleon Dynamite, ligers are bred for their "skills in magic."
