"Da Shatner Funk" in honor of William Shatner's 80th birthday
(CBS) - Captain Kirk turned 80 today! That's right, today is William Shatner's birthday, and to honor the man who pushed the final frontier and beguiled us with spoken-word songs, we present to you "Da Shatner Funk." The song kicks in at about 28 seconds into the clip.
This video was an original compilation of amazing sampling from both an interview that William Shatner gave with Conan O'Brien and an appearance Shatner made on "Fast Cars & Superstars: The Gillette Young Guns Celebrity Race".
The end-result is an impressive visual and auditory mix that hopefully meets the Captain Kirk standard and captures some of the essence that is Shatner. Happy 80th birthday to you, William Shatner!
