Baby Gaga breast milk ice cream: "Miracle of motherhood" or totally gross?

(CBS) Baby Gaga or baby gross?

A London ice cream parlor says it plans to serve up sugary confections made from human breast milk so everyone can experience the "miracle of motherhood," according to Reuters.

"What could be more natural than fresh, free-range mother's milk in an ice cream?" said Victoria Hiley, one of the 15 women who donated their mammary milk.

Hiley has a point, at least when it comes to little ones. Breast-fed babies gain natural protection against stomach problems, asthma, diabetes, respiratory infections and childhood leukemia, according to the government's Office on Human Health. And a recent study found that 900 babies and billions of dollars would be saved each year if 90 percent of American women breast-fed their babies for the first six months of life.

But what happens when adults drink from mom's soft serve? Is the stuff safe?

There's no evidence that "occupational exposure" to breast milk can spread HIV or hepatitis B, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. But since mothers can spread HIV to their babies through breast milk, the CDC says people working in milk banks can wear gloves as a precaution.

No word on what steps the parlor has taken to lick any potential risks.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Should adults consume breast milk or is it just gross?

I don't see the problem so long as the milk is processed like cow's milk. It's no grosser (is that a word?) than drinking cow's milk when you think about it. Actually, it's less gross.

And what about eggs? Ever stop and really think about what you're eating when you eat eggs?

Actually, the picture of that ice cream cone makes it look like it is composed of two saggy breasts. Not very appetizing. I'm just sayin'.

Breast milk is meant to nourish babies. Same with cow's milk...but we drink that, and it isn't even meant for our SPECIES!

Some of you are simply beyond help. The fact that you would openly drink the breast milk of another person is just messed up. A mother feeding her baby milk is acceptable because that is natural but I mean do dogs feed their puppies into adulthood? Do cows feed their calf until adulthood? Give me a break.

Was this the closest subject you could find to denigrate religion?

Humans are the only species that drink the milk of other species or continue to drink milk after infancy. This ice cream is just a novelty, but any objection to it is the work of the Judeo-Christian Taliban.

This is misguided fact

1. One ant species raises and protects aphids and then uses it's antenna to caress them until the secrete nectar and then drink it. It's the same thing as milking a cow.

2. Numerous species have been raised by the milk of another. Just go to You Tube and see kittens and lion's raised on dog's milk, squirrels raised on cat milk, etc. etc.

Human milk ice cream is gross because...it's gross. Not for any religious reasons.

There is no evidence to show either way. Pre babies at one point were not given donated breast milk..also my cousin was breast fed for 2 yrs and got childhood lukaemia at 3yrs...I would not chance the invisible risk...all depends on ur genes
