"Mad Men": Betty Draper's Guide to Parenting

NEW YORK (CBS) The return of "Mad Men" Sunday night brought back Don Draper, Peggy Olsen and the sleek look of 1960s New York.

It also brought back Betty Draper, Don's now ex-wife, and her questionable parenting skills.

In the season premiere, we're reminded of Betty's indifferent, and sometimes downright mean, way of parenting her three children while at Thanksgiving dinner with her new husband's family. When daughter Sally complains she doesn't like the food, Betty forces her to eat and then pulls her from the room when Sally spits the food out. We then hear her from the other room crying for her mother not to pinch her so hard.

It seems that nothing's changed. Throughout the first three seasons, she yelled Sally and younger son Bobby frequently, and often told them to just "Go upstairs" or "Go watch TV" so they're not bothering her (baby Eugene, born in the third season, is still too young to be yelled at -- for now). The best of the worst, perhaps, is when she told Bobby to go bang his head against the wall.
