Matthews: I Forgot Obama Was Black

Good thing Chris Matthews isn't from Alabama or a Republican, or he'd be looking for another job today, after these comments last night.

But then again, when would anyone from Alabama or a Republican or, heck, anyone else on the planet even think something so ridiculous and irrelevant--much less marvel at it?

Obama's not doing well.
His speeches are all the same, and this last one was phonier than ever.
Obama has no policy.
Obama has no plan.
"It's Bush's fault, WAAAAHHH!" isn't working anymore.
Obama has achieved nothing.
There's no evidence that Obama will be achieving anything any time soon.
People have largely forgotten he is black.
It is time to remind everyone.

By the way, did you remember...he's black?

Chris "Obama Makes Me Tingle" Matthews is quite deliberately re-inserting race into the equation, because you can't criticize him if he's black.

So - let's get this straight - a "shock jock" can look at a bunch of female basketball players and use the term, "nappy headed ho's" - and is suddenly banned - but this doofus, Chris Matthews, can claim the he forgot the President was black - why? and not so much a word is mentioned? Wow....
Embrace race...

The tingling that was running up matthews' leg finally got to his little brain.
obama is severely handicaped with his naivete, inexperience, socialist impulses, geographically challenge, hypocrite, self righteousness, etc and he doesn't need matthews to compound the problem.

Matthews cannot help it, he wants to be progressive, but his "whiteness" hangs him up.

I remember President Obama's inauguration, when a righteously angry public booed Bush when his name was announced. Matthews responded with the remark "Bad form!" as he expected people who had lost loved ones because of Bush's lies and corruptions, and those disadvantaged by the corruption of the Bush term, to cheer the man who wasted their assets and the lives of their loved ones.

To Mr Matthews, "good form" was more important than the legitimate show if anger at a corrupt war criminal, liar, and bigot.

His "Whiteness" hangs him up.

When I was learning how to debate in college, my professor told us all, that not everyone will succeed.

It requires that you know both sides of multiple issues. If you don't know both sides, and try to fake it, then you will "make a noise that will follow you until you die." Luckily we all did that offstage, and not making $480k a year.

Seems the one making 480k beat you out in the debate of life, they are large and in charge, you are small and not relevant at all.

Actually, he's half white.

But, Matthews needs to examine how he thinks about race. I hope he does it publicly.

Isn't that like saying: "I didn't think Hillary had a birth canal?"

As a person of color, I have had the same types of comments directed at me; "You don't seem black to me". Most people don't understand that it is a racist statement. What they are saying in essence is that you have 'passed some kind of litmus test to now be considered one of us'. It is quite demeaning and insulting and I suspect that Mr. Mathews would not understand my position as a person of color. Let me explain it clearly, if skin color is a qualifying aspect in determining ones value then you are radicalizing the conversation. What Mr. Mathews is saying is that before, he saw him as black and now during this speech, he has forgotten that he is black. What about all the other people of color that can not present the same speech? Where do they stand I his opinion? Are they still black but Obama is not? This speech has put Barrack Obama over the edge. He is no longer black according to Mr. Mathews.

Pres. Obama was never the "First Black President of the United States". I never saw him that way but others did. He is our 44th President! Stop the language of racism, division and separation.

You lose.

Mr Obama is also the first "Black" President.

As long as "white" people continue to judge us on the color of our skin, and act upon their judgments, there will always Be a "Black" America, different, and separate from "White" America.
You see, unlike the Uncle Toms who think that emulating "White" People, and attempting to "conserve" the last remaining dregs of Jim Crow, is somehow an admirable ability, most of us don't wish to be "like them."

It was they who created the dual America, by dint of their projections of self hatred, for we who have been the victims of it.

You say, "Stop the language of racism, division and separation." But you need to look in the mirror when you speak.

We will stop the language when you stop aiding and abetting the practice.
