Mitt Romney gets in, and the race is on

And the race is on--even earlier than some observers had expected.

Mitt Romney's announcement today that he's forming an exploratory committee may have caught some by surprise, but the timing is all about -- you guessed it -- money.

With President Obama poised to raise record amounts, Romney's camp realized it needed to start tapping into his network of supporters and raising money now, in the second quarter (which started April 1). They want this time to raise the kind of money the campaign is going to require.

Watch Romney's video below:

The giant corporations, who own and run the media, military and government and decide all the elections need to get busy. They have their people installed in the courts (federal and Supreme) and can give as much bribery money as is necessary.

Do people think America would be better off it it was not a fascist nation?

The interview with Newt on the CBS website has no content. "we need to fix medicare".
What the heck does that mean? Is Newt really incapable of stating a few examples of what is broken and what the solutions are? Or is this just propaganda, that is, imply it is broken, but dont put yourself on the line with any real solutions? Seems like it, so far.

Who is addressing the real problems? I can state one. There are too few MDs in this country. The AMA, the MD's union, tells Congress how many MDs to let into residency programs. Thus, the MDs assure a monopoly.
I know the solutions too. We need a series of federal medical schools, all around the country. We already read that the C students make the best Family MD's. Therefore, the academics are not even an issue.

Meanwhile, dont hold your breath for GOP candidates to say what is supposed to be broken with medicare.
Its not. And neither is socialist security. To 'fix' socialist security, all we need to do is to MEANS TEST receiving ANY socialist security. If you make $60K a year from other means, you dont get any more socialist security this year. Next year if you only make $10K you can have the amount you are entitled to.
So simple even you can understand it. the mechanism is already in place too. the first couple of years you can get socialist security, if you make money from other sources, there is a sliding scale for getting some but not all of the amount you get.
If there is a problem with medicare, its that we dont means test it. Why do billionaires get it for the same low price as people in poverty?

The last president to have just one term in the White House was Bush Senior (1989-1993). There are many GOP politicians who would like to be able to say that of Barack Obama. But the Republican nominee who can defeat the president in 2012 would have to have extraordinary qualities.

Romney's the one Republican who can possibly beat Obama in a one-on-one race.
We'll have to see if there's also an Independent in the race.
Should be interesting either way.

Last time he ran I didn't know who he was. It wasn't towards the end of it that I started to come around and I'm glad he's running. He's a sharp guy.

His exploratory committee is exploring what he should say he believes this time around. So - NOT healthcare. Maybe Tea Party, yes, gotta say Tea Party. Don't mention George Bush, even though he supported him twice. John McCain ? OK to mention, in the right context. Plus John McCain wasn't afraid to turn 180 degrees away from what he said in the past, that's very useful. Don't mention Mormons, but OK to mention religious freedom. Abortion, definitely must mention abortion, but only during the primaries.
