Getting Started

Hi. I'm Mary Haynes, Dave's producer. In just about three days we will embark on this crazy trip. I'm excited, and a little scared, to be honest. What will happen? Where will we end up?

At least it will be an adventure along the way. Look here for more updates, behind-the-scene photos and videos from Dave's production team. We will be following him along the way. Don't worry, we won't help him. We're counting on America to do that.

But we will be updating frequently... from whatever city we are in.

Mary Jane McKay because this is your blog I hope you will at least read the comments. I don't expect to get an answer. I have several questions for you because you are the producer. When the ideas for this segment were being discussed, did not one single person in the office voice concerns that this segment might be construed as being insensitive to the plight of people that are homeless?

Did you approve the image of Dave holding a cardboard banner with words scrawled in black marker in front of him? Being that your headquarters are based in NYC, I am certain you must have seen hundreds of homeless people, many holding cardboard sheets asking for work or food. If no one considered that this show might appear to be demeaning to a people that are homeless, that would be an even far larger shame. If someone did voice concerns, why didn't you listen?

Good luck...definitely check out Recession Roadie's tweets/posts, she may have so good advice getting around, etc.

Also...which Twitter account will he be tweeting from? The more followers, the more help he'll get, methinks.
