NEW YORK (CBS/AP) Joseph Stack, who authorities say plowed his small plane into an office building housing nearly 200 federal tax employees on Thursday, was even-tempered and unflappable all the time.

That's according to Pam Parker, wife of the leader of a band Stack played in. She also told CBS News that Stack, "talked politics like everyone but didn't show any obsession."

In a Web posting Thursday before the crash, and which authorities believe is authentic, Stack blasted the IRS and politicians, and declared "violence...is the only answer."

Parker said of the Web post, it "sounded like his (Stack's) voice, but it was nothing I ever heard him say." She added, "Clearly there was crazy in him but it must have been way in the back of his head, it wasn't who Joe was."

Parker said Stack had a full-time job and had just gotten married when he stopped playing with the band about a year-and-a-half ago.

Parker said that she saw him six weeks ago and he was "his usual easy going" self.

The shamless promotion of some amateur 'band' in a story such as this is in the worst possible taste. They sound awful and they should be ashamed for trying to exploit the press coverage. How is this relevant to the story? Stick to the facts, CBS. Let's have some truth, not fluff!
