Michael Douglas Bails Out Drug-Dealing Son Cameron Douglas

NEW YORK (CBS/AP) Oscar winning actor Michael Douglas showed up in federal court Friday to support his son Cameron Douglas, 31, who pleaded guilty last week to dealing large quantities of meth and cocaine.

Michael Douglas appeared in a Manhattan courtroom to sign paperwork so his son could get out on bail, according to the NY Daily News.

The actor's son will be able to go home until his sentencing. As Michael Douglas left the courtroom he said, "I have absolutely no comment."

The bail hearing was closed to the public. The NY Daily News reports that the hearing was sealed, along with court transcripts, which usually means the suspect is cooperating in an investigation.

The 31-year-old pleaded guilty to dealing crystal methamphetamine and cocaine out of the trendy Hotel Gansevoort, in the Meatpacking District. He faces a minimum of 10 years in prison at his sentencing on April 27.

Investigators said Cameron Douglas was paid tens of thousands of dollars for trafficking drugs. In trafficking phone calls he referred to meth as "pastry" or "bath salts."

He will be required to use an electronic monitoring system, according to the NY Daily News.
