Woman Kills Boyfriend By Sitting on Him, but Mia Landingham Isn't Going to Jail

CLEVELAND, Ohio (CBS/WOIO) An obese woman who killed her boyfriend by sitting on him will not serve any time behind bars.

Mia Landingham pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter on Wednesday and was sentenced to three years probation and 100 hours of community service, according to CBS affiliate WOIO.

Landingham, who was believed to weigh over 300 pounds at the time of the Aug. 2009 incident, sat on Mikal Middleton-Bey as he was face first on the couch.

According to her lawyer, there was a history of domestic abuse between Landingham and her boyfriend, FOX News reports.

Investigators say the victim was 5'10" tall and weighed 126 pounds. Landingham is 5'9" tall.

A police scale that went up to 350 pounds wasn't enough to accurately weigh the Cleveland woman, according to the affiliate.

Okay--whether or not this was an accident, and regardless of the fact that this is horrible--there is no need to sit here and make fun of this woman. I'm 16 years old and even I know that you guys are being immature. Come on. Grow up. She's not 'ugly.' Everyone is beautiful in their own right.

It's a good thing that ppl can't see what all of you look like because I doubt all of you fit the ideal weight. The ignorance and stupidity of this shallow society is transparent in the ridiculous comments I've been reading on these websites. No wonder Americans have some of the dumbest ppl in the world. All you ppl do is criticize when you all live in glass houses. This was obviously an accident that could have happened to anyone. The democracy of hypocracy indeed!

Hmm lets see; a history of domestic abuse and lying face first on the couch. Doesnt seem like any kind of "accident" ive ever heard of. Ive also come in contact with some pretty stupid people in my day!
