Barack Obama Ecstasy Pills Hit Streets: Approval Ratings High

PALMVIEW, Texas (CBS/AP) President Barack Obama's approval rating may be hovering in the 50 percent range, but that doesn't mean America's Commander-in-Chief isn't catching on with new constituents.

There is now a line of Ecstasy pills made in the image of the 44th president of the United States, according to Texas police who have snatched a batch off the streets.

Ecstasy is known for a sense of elation, diminished feelings of fear and anxiety, and ability to induce a sense of intimacy with others.

Perhaps a good Election Day strategy to get out the vote?

A stash of the brightly colored tablets was found Monday during a south Texas traffic stop.

Police in Palmview detained a driver after finding black tar heroin, cocaine, marijuana and several Ecstasy pills in the back of his car.

The drugs look like a "vitamin for kids," police spokesman Lenny Sanchez said.

Police say that other Ecstasy pills they found were made to look like the cartoon characters Homer Simpson and the Smurfs.

The 22-year-old driver is expected to face felony drug possession counts.

Palmview is near the border with Mexico.

No word on the driver's political affiliation.

Stop being ignorant and open your eyes. Drugs are a fact of life. they have been around for centuries and will continue to be. Thank goodness that organizations such as ecstasydata.org and others like that exist. they work as a harm reduction sites, because people will use drugs, whether they are illegal or not. sites like this have stopped many tragedies from happening and helped people be more informed, and SAFE. Test kits are important, get them! especially with all the crap dealers are selling as mdma that could be potentially lethal. There is so much propaganda surrounding drugs such as mdma its ridiculous. do your research and find out it was once used by psychologists to treat depression, or that it is now in the process of being being tested to treat severe PTSD. Dont get me wrong- it is a drug, and it is bad, but there are lots of 'legal' highs that are just as bad that are being abused.

I think it's completely ridiculous that because they found an Ex pill shaped like Obama they are inquiring about his political affiliations. The guys a drug dealer, not a effing political activist. I'm of the younger generation so maybe drugs are more commonplace and therefore don't phase me as much as the old hacks at CBS, but I assure you that ecstasy pills have been made in different shapes for curb appeal since the advent of the designer drug. Last time i checked, having an E pill with Captain Kangaroo on it doesn't mean I voted for the guy. Stop looking for a conspiracy, and report some f***ing news. Idiots.

Do you not know what satire is? Go to dictionary.com and look it up as this is all the commentary this reporter was making about the pill being shaped like his holiness (yes, now I am making a commentary on how the obama-nation see's him). The problem with your generation is you do not know what satire or irony is or know how to post a coherent message without cursing. I am sure I will receive a very noce vulgar laden response from you in kind, but I will not stoop to your low brow, uneducated and apparently drug abusing ways (your aforementioned use of a captain KAngaroo e pill, or did you forget you admitted to thatt?)

I think we should legalize this drug because many of us really need the effects of it. I would start with myself, all the big corporate CEOs, our elected officials and military commanders.

A whole bunch of BZP/TFMPP pills have shown up in the past year that look like Homer or Bart Simpson, Transformers, Snoopy, Ninja Turtles, and Smurfs. Go check out the first 3 or 4 pages of ecstasydata.org to see them.
Thing is, these aren't round pills with a logo on them like the traditional ecstasy market, they're shaped more like Flintstones vitamins. This indicates that they're coming from the same supplier upstream who has the technology to do these kinds of presses.

Much street ecstasy is still pure MDMA, though you can see trends where people are trying to fool the reagent testing kits or trying novel presses to get customers. Ecstasydata.org is one of only a couple organizations in the world doing this sort of lab analysis on street drugs. Consider sending them some money, it costs over $100 to test each pill.

Lol you can buy test kits for some $40 and you get 500 uses out of it - and most street ecstasy isn't pure MDMA which is why people get the test kits.

hahaha im from canada and i saw these going around back in summer they were very popular, except they were white instead of orange and everyone refered to them as white obamas.

I figured they weren't ecstasy..they're all brown and they were picked up in Texas. I stopped doing ecstasy years ago because you're lucky to ever actually get pills anymore that have MDMA in them, let alone be 100% pure MDMA. Nowadays it's just a mixture of crap. I don't regret doing it at all, and might again one day in the future, under the right circumstances. But if someone came up to me today and offered to sell me one of these "brown double-stacked obamas" I'd definitely decline.

"Under the right circumstances"...you'd probably take it if it were free...Gee...comforting to know there's a hypocritical 'ex-user but would-use again if it were pure' illegal drug expert on the panel...not so much.
