Brooklyn Hit-and-Run Update: Police talk to friend of Julio Acevedo, suspect in fatal crash

/ AP Photo/NYPD(CBS/AP) NEW YORK - New York City police say they've spoken to a friend of the man wanted in a hit-and-run crash that killed a pregnant woman, her husband and ultimately their child.
The friend told police that Julio Acevedo is willing to turn himself in to authorities.However, Commissioner Raymond Kelly said Wednesday that police continue looking for him in the meantime.
The NYPD says Acevedo was behind the wheel of a speeding BMW early Sunday when it smashed into a hired car carrying the couple, killing the husband and wife. Their premature baby, who was delivered by cesarean section, died a day later.
Acevedo has told a newspaper that he fled the scene of the crash because someone was trying to shoot him. He ways he didn't know the couple had died until he saw it in the news.
