(CBS) -- Ammar Harris, suspect in a Las Vegas Strip shooting and subsequent fiery car crash that left three dead, has been arrested in Los Angeles, according to police

Las Vegas police Capt. Chris Jones says Ammar Harris, a felon, was arrested Thursday by a team of police and federal agents in Studio City.

The 26-year-old is a self-described pimp who was the subject of a multi-state manhunt following the Feb. 21 gunfire and chain-reaction crash that killed three and injured at least five.

Police say he fired at least five shots into a Maserati sports car, killing aspiring rapper Wayne Cherry Jr. who he argued with earlier in the valet area of a Las Vegas Strip resort.

Mortally wounded, Cherry accelerated and slammed into a taxi cab that burst into flames, killing cab driver Michael Boldon and his passenger, Sandra Sutton-Wasmund of Maple Valley, Washington.

According to CBS Miami, Harris was arrested in Miami Beach last December for reckless driving. Police say he was also cited for driving without a valid license.

Really? Do you really want to stop 80% of firearms violence? A lot of people are not going to like this, but "you" are going to have to ban the minorities that are committing these crimes from having weapons of any sort. THATS the 80% that's shooting, stabbing, baseballbatting etc. These people are self distructive and have proved it over time. Also, the mentally ill need to be under closer supervision. Not just 4-5 days a week. Hell,they are sick 24/7, and funds need to be allacated for their surveilance. Tough to do, but just ask the survivors of these violent acts and see what they would say. Did the gun jump up and start firing away? of course not.... The PERSON pulling the trigger or swinging the bat or pushing the knife did it. Look at the stats. Not P.C. but that's tuf stuf

I see two major problems with what you are proposing: 1) profiling! and 2) minorities! Both of these issues would have that exhaulted group ACLU all over what you said!
You could very well be stating the truth but that is not important when dealing with those two issues.
