Human skeleton unearthed in California backyard, former homeowner arrested
Larry Thomas Dominguez
/ Santa Ana Police DepartmentSanta Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna says 65-year-old Larry Thomas Dominguez was arrested Monday on suspicion of murder based on the remains and statements he made to detectives while being interviewed.
Dominguez and his family lived at the home for more than 20 years until he moved shortly after a 2006 fire and relocated to another part of Santa Ana. The house was sold to neighbors.
Investigators found most of a full human skeleton when they dug further, but no other remains.
Officials from the coroner's office and anthropologists will attempt to determine the age and sex of the person, and when and how the individual died.
