Philadelphia Child Kidnapping: Police seek 2 suspects in girl's abduction

(AP) PHILADELPHIA -- Police are still searching for a woman who abducted a 5-year-old Philadelphia girl from her elementary school.

Investigators say the girl was blindfolded, forced to change out of her clothes and made to hide under a bed after being taken from her classroom Monday morning. A passer-by found her early Tuesday shivering under a piece of playground equipment at a park just outside the city.

Police say the woman claimed she was the girl's mother and was coming to take her to breakfast. After leaving school, police say the woman and the victim walked a few blocks to a home where a man was waiting.

Authorities believe the victim was targeted but have not disclosed a motive. School officials say personnel did not follow proper procedures before releasing the child.

by stolenproperty January 19, 2013 4:22 PM EST: The older child who helped the victim escape is in danger...I suspect that this older child might be hurt. The police need to also look for her...ask the victim what she looks like and if she went to school...I suspect that she was being abused and wanted to help the victim escape the abuse. There are some questions...why did the victim believe that this woman was her mother? Most children know their mother no matter what she is wearing. Look for a family with an older child in the neighborhood...check for school records of children on the block where the victim was taken. I am concerned about that older child and what she may be suffering for helping the victim escape. CBS I was reading your rules of engagement and noticed that personal attacks are not accepted...however the first post said that Muslims practice irratic behavior...this seems to be a personal attack against Muslims?; Reply to this comment

Muslims are no more prone to irrational behavior than other religious persons. Please hold off on judgement until all the facts have been discovered...although it seems you have formed an unjust opinion about Muslims.

Why else would a woman temporarily need a five year old? Her efforts didn't pan out so the child was left in a public place to be found.; Reply to this comment
