James Pak, Maine landlord charged in deaths of two teen tenants, enters no plea

(CBS/AP) ALFRED, Maine - The 74-year-old Maine landlord charged with the murders of his two teen tenants did not enter a plea during his first court appearance Monday.
Pak is charged with two counts of murder in the Saturday evening deaths of 19-year-old Derrick Thompson and his 18-year-old girlfriend, Alivia Welch.
A police affidavit says a Pak charged with killing Thompson and Welch, his two teenage tenants, after walking into their apartment and telling them he was going to shoot them before following through on his threat.
The document says Pak and his tenants were arguing about late rent and parking before the shooting.
An affidavit says Pak also shot Thompson's mother twice, but she survived by pretending to be dead. Thompson and Welch, along with Thompson's mother and her 6-year-old son, were living in an apartment attached to Pak's home.
