2012 Year in Review: Crimes against animals
The owner of "OP" allegedly shot the dog 12 times, choked him with an electrical cord and threw him in a dumpster.

According to Pet-Abuse.org, a website that tracks animal abuse cases in several countries, including the U.S., Canada and the United Kingdom, there have been more than 17,000 cases of animal abuse reported in the U.S. in 2012.
