"Official oppression": Kindergarten teacher charged with letting kids hit 6-year-old "bully"
A former San Antonio kindergarten teacher is charged with "official oppression" for encouraging students to hit a 6-year-old class bully.
/ CBSProsecutors in Bexar County announced Tuesday that Cynthia Ambrose was indicted for the incident in May when she was working in San Antonio for the Judson Independent School District.
Investigators say Ambrose urged several students to line up and hit the 6-year-old boy. The parents of the boy, who wasn't hurt, dispute allegations that he was a bully. Another teacher later reported the incident.
Official oppression is a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail.
Ambrose has apologized for the incident. She's no longer with the school.
