(CBS/AP) NEW YORK - Police are looking for a suspect who allegedly pushed a man off a Manhattan subway platform to his death on Monday.

Authorities said the victim, 58-year-old Ki-Suck Han, tried to climb out but died after getting trapped between an oncoming train and the platform edge. Transit officials said the incident happened around 12:30 p.m. at 49th Street and Seventh Avenue and involved a southbound "Q" train.

Witnessed described the suspect as a man in his 20s wearing a white t-shirt who was mumbling to himself before pushing the victim. Authorities are reviewing security camera footage.

Patrick Gomez, who was in the station, said he heard a "thud that didn't sound normal" when the train pulled into the station. He said people started screaming and running.

He said police quickly evacuated the platform.
