"Twilight" theatre shooting plot foiled in Missouri, police say
Blaec Lammers
/ KCTVBlaec Lammers, 23, of Bolivar was charged Friday with three felony counts, including making a terrorist threat.
Bolivar police say his mother contacted authorities Thursday, saying she was concerned her son had purchased weapons similar to those used in the movie theater shooting in Aurora, Colo.
Investigators say Lammers told authorities he was planning to attack the theater and a Walmart store Sunday. Police say he'd bought movie tickets, two assault rifles and 400 rounds of ammunition.
According to court documents, Lammers decided to target the Walmart because he was afraid he would run out of ammunition and would be able to replenish his supply inside the store, CBS affiliate KCTV reports.
Court documents reportedly show Lammers felt he had something in common with the gunmen in other mass shootings.
"Blaec Lammers stated that he was quiet, kind of a loner, had recently purchased firearms and didn't tell anybody about it, and had homicidal thoughts," according to court documents, KCTV reports.
Prosecutors say they'll seek a mental examination.
