Zumba Prostitution Scandal: Alexis Wright, alleged prostitute, accused of taking nude photos of herself with son, court documents say

(CBS) - The Maine Zumba instructor charged with running a prostitution ring in her dance studio, was accused by her son's father of posing naked with her 7-year-old son in "inappropriate pictures," reports the Portland Press Herald.

The newspaper obtained court documents filed by Benjamin Hopkins, the father of Alexis Wright's son, who is seeking full custody of their son. The judge reportedly dismissed the complaint Wednesday when neither the Hopkins nor Wright showed up for a court hearing on the matter.

According to the paper, Wright never received a summons to appear.

The paper reports that Hopkins filed the complaint on Oct. 26, claiming that the child was living in an "extremely dangerous situation" with Wright due to the scandal and Wright's address being released to the public.

Wright, 29, pleaded not guilty in October to 106 counts including prostitution and invasion of privacy for sexual acts performed in her dance studio and in a rented office in the seaside town of Kennebunk. She is accused of having more than 100 alleged clients, including a former mayor and the local high school ice hockey coach.

The paper reports that according to Hopkins' complaint, the boy's father received a call from a case worker at the Department of Health and Human Services who had reportedly learned of the pictures from the Kennebunk police. The caseworker described the contents of the photos to Hopkins, who was never shown the pictures, reports the paper.

The complaint reportedly states that the photos in question were taken from a camera belonging to 57-year-old Mark Strong Sr., Wright's business partner in the alleged prostitution operation.

"My son appeared naked covered from the waist down with only a sheet. Alexis was fully naked," Hopkins reportedly said in the complaint.

Kennebunk Police Lt. Anthony Bean Burpee told the paper that he could not comment on the allegations in the complaint, citing the ongoing investigation. He did confirm, however, that no one was charged in connection with the allegations Hopkins made to the court, the Press Herald reported.
