Fla. judge rules Zimmerman can have access to Trayvon Martin's school records

At a hearing on Friday, Zimmerman's attorney, Mark O'Mara, said that the defendant is entitled to inquire about the victim's propensity for violence and that videos of Martin involved in mixed martial arts-style fights exist online.
Zimmerman, 29, is charged with second-degree murder in February shooting death of 17-year-old Martin. Zimmerman, a former neighborhood watch volunteer, has pleaded not guilty. He was not arrested in Martin's death until more than a month after the incident, spurring national outrage.
Judge Debra S. Nelson also granted O'Mara's team the right to subpoena the social media post of a young woman who was on the phone with Martin at the time of the shooting. According to WKMG, O'Mara told the judge that they believe her social media posts contradict some of her story.
WKMG report earlier that Martin's parents, who believe that the release of their sons school records is an attempt to further victimize him, say if that their son's information is released, Zimmerman's confidential medical records should also be made public.
At the hearing, O'Mara said Zimmerman was willing to share his medical records 30 days prior to and 30 days after the shooting, WKMG reported. Nelson said she would rule on the issue of Zimmerman's medical records at a later date.
Facebook is also against the release of Martin's posts, citing privacy rights, WKMG reports.
Attorneys for more than a dozen media organizations are also at the hearing to fight efforts by the prosecutor to seal defense subpoenas and other case records.
