According to CBS San Francisco, Alameda County Superior Court Judge Carrie Panetta ordered that two psychiatrists examine 43-year-old Goh and report their findings in a hearing in her courtroom on Nov. 19.
Goh has pleaded not guilty to seven counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder in the April 2 attack at Oikos University, an Oakland school founded to help Korean immigrants adjust to life in America and launch new careers. Goh faces the special circumstance of committing multiple murders that makes him eligible for the death penalty.
Authorities said Goh planned the shootings and opened fire at the small Christian college, killing seven, after becoming angry over a tuition dispute with school officials.
Goh's hearing Monday had been expected to be a routine pretrial hearing, CBS San Francisco reports.
