According to new evidence released by prosecutors, Sanford police officers gave conflicting accounts of George Zimmerman's injuries during the shooting attack of Trayvon Martin

(CBS/AP) ORLANDO, Fla. - Newly released documents give conflicting accounts from Sanford police officers of George Zimmerman's injuries in the minutes after he fatally shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

Prosecutors released the documents Thursday, which show that some officers thought Zimmerman's nose was broken but others didn't. The officers agreed that the former neighborhood watch volunteer had cuts on the back of his head.

The degree of Zimmerman's injuries could be important in his claim of self-defense under Florida's "stand your ground" law. Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder in the shooting.

The documents also provide an account of Martin's activities with his cousin the day before the shooting and show crime scene photos.

Zimmerman was arrested 44 days after the shooting. The delay triggered protests nationwide and the departure of Sanford's police chief.

makes a very keen point that needs to be a focal point in this investigation. he is making a case for TVs cold cases or 48 hours with such keen observation! His question is:

"Why would Zimmerman have held the gun in front of his face to fire it? That seems very awkward for someone lying on their back."

by andie52 July 15, 2012 7:44 AM EDT: A federal agent, a former Seminole County Sheriff's deputy harbored Zimmerman for 6 weeks and Osterman went to the crime scene the night Trayvon was killed, and also accompanied Zimmerman to his police interrogations. He was present for Zimmerman's video walk-through of the shooting scene with police, and went to Zimmerman's third interview with Sanford Det. Chris Serino Sounds like DHS assigned Osterman to hold Zimmerman's hand...Is this equal justice?; Reply to this comment


by smittyc July 12, 2012 8:40 PM EDT: I would think that Z visited a Physician or hospital at some point. X rays should be available for evidence. While it is true a broken nose can be determined by inspection if it is flattened to one side or the the other, the nose can be broken and still be where it belongs. Who knows who did what, but the fact remains that Zimm is a short man who needs a gun to feel big, even when none of his fellow neighborhood watch folks carried, even though they were licensed to.; Reply to this comment

Pure speculation and conjecture, but since zimmerman was arrested and will stand trial for 2nd degree murder, it is one of the possibilities, since he definitely killed an unarmed teenager doing nothing wrong, after stalking him since he "looked suspicious."; Reply to this comment

So the only disagreement among them was whether Zimmerman's nose was broken, and since cops are not doctors, their OPINIONS do not count.

Clearly and without any argument, Martin was beating up Zimmerman. And not the 14 year old the liberal media puts forward, but a tall, strong 17 year old on suspension from school for drug abuse.

Truth be told, there was a fight and Zimmerman was getting his butt beat for persistently following a teenager who had no idea why he was being pursued. Zimmerman had courage to follow - his gun was his courage. He had no business approaching this stranger. None. And your biggest lie is that Martin was suspended for drug abuse. Abuse? Please, give me a break. There were TRACES of marijuana in his backpack. The cops are doctors and you are not a expert on drug abuse.

It is obvious that the federal government and left wing media are intent on convicting Zimmermann, even if he is innocent.

If a black man had killed a white thug, you would not hear a peep out of the federal government or the liberal media!

Because the black guy would have been arrested on the spot. Not 45 days later, after much protesting, and special prosecutors being assigned and police chief fired.

Only X-Ray will tell you that nose is broken or not. Doctor said George's nose broken cuz George told him so. Actually, Primary Doctor didn't see him, but Physcian's Associate did. Physcian Associate referred him to ENT and George denied. What does this tell you??? Hmmm!!!

by Tim2710 July 12, 2012 5:03 PM EDT: The fact that Zimmerman didn't go to an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist says nothing about whether his nose was broken or not.

He may simply not have had the money to spend on a specialist. It was reported he had $24K in debt.

Self defense law does not require that you take a beating until you are injured enough to use deadly force. Many people who kill suffer no injuries and a judge or jury still decide that they acted in self defense.
